Electric Bike Assembly

Many customers ask us, "How can I best assemble my ebike?"

There are three main options we can suggest:

  1. Do-it-yourself (DIY)
Many of our customers are handy, and prefer to assemble their own bikes. Our ebikes are mostly pre-assembled, so you will not have to assemble any electrical components. User Manuals for all DJ Bikes modals are available in our Help Center with step-by-step instructions that will help you with your assembly. Plus, you'll find helpful videos on the DJ Bikes YouTube channel. And we're excited to announce that full assembly videos are in the works for each of the DJ Bikes modals. See our newest release, Assembling a Folding Bike.

Assembling your DJ Bikes electric bike typically takes about one hour. And, as always, we are just a phone call away for assistance. We'll be here to help.

We do need to caution you that damage caused by improper assembly is not covered by our warranty.

  2. Local Bike Shop
Some customers choose to take their electric bike to a local bike shop. While some bike shops won't service electric bikes or will only work on the brands they sell, many will happily take your ebike and assemble it for you, for as little as $100. You also might consider doing the assembly yourself and taking your ebike to a local shop afterwards to have it tuned and tightened for peace of mind. Check out our Retail Locations page to see if one of our DJ Bikes Retail Partners is in your area.

  3. velofix
For those wanting white glove service, we partner with velofix, who provide locally operated, mobile bike shops throughout the U.S. and Canada. They will come to your residence and assemble your bike in their full-equipped vans.
